Seven immigrant rights organizations lodged an urgent federal complaint with the Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (CRCL) concerning gross human rights violations by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), which has held people seeking asylum in squalid, unsafe open-air detention sites along the U.S.-Mexico border in California.
