The asylum office granted asylum to a Guatemalan female unaccompanied minor who was repeatedly abused by her father. The applicant’s father was violent towards the applicant and her mother because they were women. He was physically abusive with the applicant, forced her to work with no remuneration, and forced her into prostitution to settle debts.

Gang members repeatedly robbed and raped her on her way back from the market, and her parents beat her for returning empty-handed not believing she had been raped.
