The asylum office granted asylum to a Salvadoran female minor who experienced physical abuse by her father as a teenager. The applicant’s attorney proposed the particular social groups of “Salvadoran children unable to leave a familial relationship” and a family-based group based on her kinship to her abusive father.

A Texas Asylum Office granted asylum to a Pakistani woman who suffered domestic violence by her husband in an arranged marriage. A Tulane Immigration Judge granted asylum to a minor who was raped and became pregnant. There had been attempts to force her to have an abortion.

An Asylum Office granted asylum to a Nigerian Osu woman. The woman was born into slavery and subjected to FGC at an early age. When she was a teenager, she was sold into the sex slave trade and was taken all over Africa. She suffered from severe abuse and eventually was able to escape to Mexico. The one year bar was waived.

Case #11772 El Salvador Domestic violence (including child, partner, in-law violence), Domestic violence - Child abuse

The immigration judge granted cancellation of removal to a Salvadoran female asylum applicant who experienced domestic abuse as a child at the hands of her father. The applicant also has two minor daughters whom she fears would be harmed by her father.

An Asylum Office granted asylum to minor siblings from Guatemala. They were repeatedly threatened and attacked by their neighbors.
