Writing a Compelling Declaration in Asylum and Related Fear of Return Cases

This practical skills training will focus on how to write a compelling declaration for cases involving asylum, withholding of removal, and protection under the Convention Against Torture. Attention will be given to the content, structure, and organization of writing a persuasive asylum declaration. Practitioners will learn techniques for effectively interviewing immigrants who have experienced trauma, how to develop a case theory, and how to organize an asylum declaration in a legally relevant manner.
