Case Summary

A Houston Asylum Office granted asylum to a young woman from Mogadishu, Somalia. The woman's parents were murdered in Mogadishu when she was very young and she was raised by her paternal aunt in Nairobi. She was repeatedly harassed, detained, and sexually assaulted by Kenyan police. When she was eighteen, thieves broke into her home and tried to rape her. Her aunt was killed when she tried to protect the woman.
