Case Summary

The IJ granted asylum to a Honduran Garifuna woman who was involved in a women's rights group. She began a relationship with a man and got pregnant, which angered him. He repeatedly asked her to get an abortion. When she decided to keep the baby, he slashed her across the face with a knife. The police refused to get involved because they did not interefere in domestic affairs. DHS did not appeal.
