Case Summary

The asylum office granted asylum to a Honduran male child who refused to join a gang because of his religious affiliations, and the affiliations of his family. When the child refused to join, he was told his church was trash and he suffered severe head trauma by the gang members. The child's father was also a member of the gang and tried to recruit the child as well. The child was also subject to severe abuse by his grandfather who was his primary care-taker.
